My family has been a longtime financial donor to this hospital, and like many other longtime patients we have seen this hospital deteriorate over the years. It's unfortunate that the emergency department was my wife's first experience at this hospital despite our many years of financial donations. Due to our shockingly unprofessional experience at the emergency department, we have decided to stop financial donations to this hospital after three generations of donations. We cannot justify giving more money to a hospital whose staff treats patients like this. As a family, we don't recommend this hospital anymore, and we will tell our friends at temple about this deplorable experience. You can thank nurse Sam and her unwarranted physical assault for that.

This hospital got some of the best caring loving doctors and nurses. I spent two weeks in a high risk pregnancy department, they comes every minute, nurses, doctors, social workers it was incredible. Dr. John Kingdom is an amazing doctor, he gave me his words that the baby is going to be fine if he delivered her prematurely, his words! Thank you guys so much, Sally, Marjorie, Dr. Kingdom.

Bed bugs, too many trainees. I was pressured to cooperate to do things I didn't want too and felt very violated and like I was a test experiment. My daughter was born happy and healthy, that's the reason for the three stars.

Took my buddy here when she had the shingles. Pretty busy so the wait was 7 hours. If you can go to an urgent care, don’t go here. That being said staff was nice and I read that poster about sepsis again a hundred times.

My wife was at the emergency department and the nurse elbowed my wife's face, gave my wife a long hard stare and told my wife that she knows she hit my wife's face but it's ok because my wife looked fine. Several patients witnessed this incident and were shocked at the physical assault they just witnessed. Nurse Samantha (aka Sam) is a rude, derogatory, unprofessional employee who is in desperate of proper training; she needs to be sent to school for legal and ethical training so she can stop assaulting patients. It's not legal or ethical to hit a patient regardless of what this nurse thinks is ok. My wife was already in pain and nurse Sam gave her more unwarranted physical distress. The nurse did not apologize. We could clearly hear the conversations nurse Sam was having with her colleagues at the nurses station, which included the typical "these patients are stupid" statements. If you hate your job, then quit because clearly you're unfit for it. Taxpayer dollars go to your pocket. Nurse Sam work on January 26, 2017 in the morning to afternoon.

It's been a great experience. Nurses and doctors both are very helpful and caring.

This review pertains to Mt. Sinai's emergency department. The facility is smothered with filth, cobwebs cover corners of the rooms, "sterile" supplies are fully exposed to ill patients (should be placed away from general public in a storage room), staff doesn't wear gloves when handling patients, bedsheets are not changed after each patient's use, beds are not sanitized after each patient's use, staff doesn't clean fresh vomit off surfaces (we saw patients vomit in the main waiting area while the staff simply stared at the patient without isolating them; it took 2 hours before staff decided to clean the vomit), staff is unsanitary because they eat their food with bare hands while handling urine samples and talking to patients (we saw this at the RAZ area at the nurse "hangout"). The whole waiting area and adjacent hallway were blocked with as many as 10 stretchers, which is a fire and safety hazard. Security staff are unaware of people entering and leaving because they're too busy gossiping and texting. Staff doesn't change out of their hospital uniform when they exit the hospital (staff seems to have forgotten about the SARS outbreak).
