  While I'm of two minds about the concept of vegan versions of non-vegan foods, I do appreciate their place in potentially luring omnivorous people into foregoing meat - even if only for one meal. Whether you are a vegan seeking a thoroughly satisfying dining experience for omnivorous guests, or an altruistic omnivore wanting to give a vegan friend a break from menu hacking, I wholeheartedly recommend you try the Grasshopper Restaurant.

  I was excited to try this place out but the food was super heavy and didn't feel as healthy. Oil was dripping from my fries. Wasn't as great as I'd expect it to be. The organic wine was good though....

  Update, I changed my 3 star review to a 1 since me and my mother both feel sick and its been 6 hours and we still feel heavy from the food. Definitely not going back.

  Awesome! The food was delicious, service was attentive and friendly. Cute environment, but small. It can get cold by the door. Drinks were good too. We went with two people who aren't vegan and they really enjoyed the food too. We got the mushroom bowl with pulled 'pork' on top, the chili bowl and they got a burger.

  This little gem, perched at the northern border of Kensington Market, is worth a visit. To my mind, not the very cheapest of fare, but I'm a bit of a skinflint. That said, I would gladly pay what they charge for the meal I had this afternoon. It wasn't overly fancy, but it was well-made, delicious, and served in a timely fashion. We were there at a time when brunch items were being served, so I had the tofu scramble wrap with sesame fries and a pint of cider. My husband opted for the 'chicken' burger, also with sesame fries and a cider. Both were devoured in moments, which wasn't entirely fair considering how tasty they were. We remained fully sated for the rest of the day. Service was top-notch, delivered with a smile and a friendly chat. There were some requests of accommodation due to the small size of the location, but nothing I'd consider unreasonable.

  Great vegan restaurant and WOW! rice poppers and the mayo that comes with it is so yummy, I could have that every day. The curry bowl is good too. I wouldn't recommend the "pulled pork" burger, BBQ sauce is a bit weak and the "meat" is chewy and cold. We will definitely go back to try different things on the menu.

  This place is awesome. We're not even vegan and we can't get enough! Food is great quality and even the takeout food quality lasts for the hour it takes us to get home. Once, they made a mistake and forgot something we had ordered and paid for. When I called back to bring it to their attention, they were courteous and able to resolve it right away. Great food, great service.
