I stayed in Tartu residence during 1980 and was a very nice experience. Of course I was 19 and those were different times. It was always a basic but sufficient place. The first place to live away from home for many guys, even only few blocks from home place. Each floor could be an "interesting adventure" according to culture, nationality or language of those who inhabit. One could be a cheerful spectator or the victim of a practical joke. Nice views, nice memories (Venezuela).

I wish I could give 0 star. But I'm bound to give 1 star. So there it is.

Cheap residence for students. During summers, they allow others as well.

This place is great in terms of value for money but you have to put up with the cleanliness levels of other flatmates.

Lived here for 3 school years. Your experience depends a lot on your roommates; staff is pretty rude; prices went up every single year by about $30/mo. Unsure if the value argument would be made if I was starting university now. When asking for rent receipts for tax purposes — something required by law to provide free of charge — they would only provide them if I paid money. It's basic living, pretty snug, but it's sufficient and safe. Never had bug problems, rodents, or mold. Cleaning ladies are all very nice, too.

People working here sure know to make your life miserable. You can't move out just like that even if you really need to. They make you find a replacement even though they say they have 100s of people waiting to take up their place. There is no ventilation at all. It's like living in a dungeon. Toilet and bathroom not cleaned properly. Life in tartu sucks.

You get your room and share the bathroom and kitchen with other flatmates.

Works on a shared apartment basis. Typically 4-6 suites in 1 apartment.

Small dorm. Good location. Poor WiFi network.
