Prospect Cemetery & Mausoleum is a large Cemetery - going from St. Clair to Eglington Avenue - the cemetery is one of the older ones in Toronto and there are many pathways through the cemetery. - A Richard Trus Review

I have since upgraded my review from 2 to 3 stars because the staff have made an effort to fix the problem.

I have recently discovered a relative who is buried there and I want to take care of his grave. He is all but run over by staff truckers and the edge of the road by his grave is is terrible shape. There are other graves there, flat stones that are now part of this makeshift muddy roadway. The vehicles drive over these graves. I guess there is no respect now since they are from 1913...my great uncle's is from 1916. I have noticed other parts that do not look cared for...

I tried to offer the edit that it has been called Remembrance Day in Canada since 1931. There is no ability to edit this note.

Yesterday we laid my mother-in-law to rest in what was/could have been a beautiful spot. There were a few large dead branches hanging over the grave that we asked (twice ) to be removed before the burial. When we arrived with the casket the dead branches were still there and some healthy branches had been torn away, probably by the digging equipment. I was so furious I couldn't even focus on the burial. The taller men had to duck under the dead branches to get to the grave and the site was no longer shady because they had removed healthy branches. I found this so disrespectful and shameful and my partner and I were embarrassed because we had gone on about what a lovely peaceful site it was. I am just so furious. Wish I could post pictures here! Also there was supposed to be Prospect staff there to put the lid on the vault but there was no one! They get a 2 star for it is a beautiful Cemetary.
