Beautiful ambiance; decor set a beautiful tone. Greeting us by our reservation name was a lovely touch!

Awful experience in this restaurant, one of the worst I had in Toronto. First, it's pretentious and way overpriced. Nothing strange being in Toronto, where most of the ‘so called’ fine restaurants are nothing about the quality but about showing off or being ‘trendy’.

All in all it was a fine meal. But for the money paid, it didn't add up to anything special. All the food was good... But over priced and without the French flair I was looking for.

    Unfortunately, would not visit again.

The croquettes were very thickly battered and under seasoned, if I didn't know better if say they could have been from frozen.

Well done Café Boulud! You achieved that I would never come back again plus I would recommend anybody considering to spend a cent on your restaurant to desist from such idea.

Service was good, but a bit labored.

Lamb was tender, delicious and delicate ... And exactly how I could have slow cooked it at home. Nothing special. Trout was good, but a very basic fish for this type of restaurant. Lemon tart was good... But not outstanding. Could have been from any number of great bakeries in the city.

Pickup staff, those who delivered our food or brought garnishes and sides, were absolutely fantastic and friendly!

We all work hard for our money and at 15$ per glass, I feel anyone is deserving of a well chilled, properly presented beverage from all means and walks of life. My drink was served in the wrong glass - not necessarily a big deal, but then it was simply poured into another glass with the ice removed rather than a chilled glass. These days, if you're a mixologist and charge me like I owe you child support, I figured to expect some knowledge and care. Also, I saw film floating around in the drink due to the warmth of the beverage. It was simply a bit gross. At that point I didn't say anything because I was already disheartened and felt as an inconvenience to the staff.

Our server seemed rushed and spent no time to ask us about the drink after asking for it to be changed - not really throughout our meal, now that I think about it, either.

A top notch brunch experience in every respect: from convenient online booking, though to service, food, and ambience. We were here for midweek breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My hubby’s omelet was not very inspired, but neither was there anything wrong with it- and seeing as that’s the most critical thing we can say about the whole experience that’s saying something. Lemon ricotta pancakes were superb and coffee was very well made (plus the beans are a very nice non-acidic blend). A wonderful place for a date or special occasion.

The meal was uninspired. With my wife for winterlicious and had onion soup, cod croquettes, lamb shank, trout with a lemon tart for dessert.

I booked it for St. Valentine’s knowing this: I was going to pay way too much for what I was going to receive, no problem. The big problem came when after having booked this 1.5 month in advance (something as well very common in Toronto if you want to get a reservation… unfortunately. That’s why I end up cooking at home most of the times), we arrived and the host had us waiting, surrounded by a crowd of people at the entrance, for 15 minutes. To make it worse, the reservation didn’t permit you to cancel it and if you did, then they would charge 55 dollars per person. After the 15 minutes wait and the absurd of the situation, we decided that we were not going to leave over 300 bucks in a place with such a bad service and absurd policies. Oh! Almost forgot, they would only let you have dinner for 2 hours (Thanks).

However, service was rushed and drinks were very poor.

With all this non-sense we took the best decision of the night and departed from the place. Best decision ever as we were able to walk in and get a table in Sassafraz, better location, better food and half the price.

We went to Cafe Boulud for a work event. They made very nice cocktails here and had a nice selection of fine. I had the lamb shank which was very tender. Most people went with the steaks and they were all cooked to their liking. Dessert blew us away. One had a grapefruit with cotton candy and I had a chocolate lava cake to die for.
