  I was waiting in line behind a pair of gentlemen ordering up a storm and a second employee came up to the counter and she asked the woman behind me what she needed. I was so shocked I just stared at the two of them, dismayed. They ignored me and carried on. I'm not from toronto but I'm guessing that in this area they don't get many Chinese-looking people. This kind of thing happened to me in France, even though I speak French but this is the first time that it has happened to me in Canada. Normally, I would just leave but we were seeing some friends there so sent my (white) spouse to order. Perhaps Chinese people are invisible to theses staff members. Yes we ended up with some pretty decent pastries (all of the great reviews confirm this) but i don't need to go through that again and they probably don't need my business anyway, message received. Have a great day anyway.

  Great fresh bread and baked treats, one of my favourite places in the Junction! Friendly staff, I even get to practice my French with the French guy behind the counter!

  Very friendly, kind staff and fast service! The best croissant I've had in Toronto so far. Montréal quality. Will be back!!

  I was actually one of the first customers in the door the day it opened. For fresh bread and baked goods, Mabel's does not disappoint. Croissants and whole loaves are really good. Mabel's really knows how to do bread properly. They even make fairly decent coffee. The only thing holding me back from five stars is the service. Every time I go in, the staff seem more interested in talking to each other than to customers. It's a distraction from an otherwise lovely place for breads and baked goods. This place is fast becoming a neighbourhood favourite.

  Everything from this place is amazing. Try their lentil salad you won't be disappointed. I am only giving this place four stars because it is pricey. But in the end- you get what you pay for. Quality.
